Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible

SecureGuard is published by:

In this policy, "we" means Zino Grupp OU and "the App" means SecureGuard, listed on the App Store under the name VaultNet VPN. This policy covers the App and this website at secureguardvpn.com.

2. Short version

We do not sell data, because we do not collect it in the first place. The App contains no advertising SDKs and does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).

3. How the app works

• VPN. Traffic is encrypted between your device and the server you select, using the VPN facilities iOS provides. We don't log the sites you visit, the DNS queries your device makes while connected, or the contents of your traffic.
• Wi-Fi Security. Checks the network you're connected to for basic risk indicators, on your device.
• Ad Blocker. Filters known ad and pop-up sources using a local ruleset — it doesn't need to see your browsing to do this.
• Device Security. Reads basic system status (such as whether a passcode is set, and whether your iOS version is current) directly from iOS, on-device.
• Battery Health. Reads battery condition data that iOS already exposes to apps, on-device.

4. What Apple handles

• Purchases. Subscriptions are sold and billed entirely through Apple's In-App Purchase system (StoreKit). We never see your card details. Apple shares with us only whether a purchase or subscription is active, so the App can unlock what you paid for.
• Diagnostics you opt into. If you've enabled "Share With App Developers" in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may pass us crash logs in de-identified form.
• App Store metrics. Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymous figures — downloads, subscription counts — through App Store Connect.

5. Permissions and why they're asked for

• VPN configuration. Required to encrypt and route your connection. This is an iOS-level prompt, shown for every VPN app.
• Notifications (optional). Used only for app-related messages if you allow them.

Every permission can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings. Removing the VPN configuration (Settings → General → VPN & Device Management) stops the VPN and any features that depend on an active connection.

6. Legal bases

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, we rely on:

• Performance of a contract — providing the App's features and managing your subscription and purchases through Apple.
• Your consent — the iOS prompt to add a VPN configuration, which you grant or decline directly through iOS.
• Our legitimate interests — responding to support emails and keeping the App working reliably.

7. Who data is shared with

We don't sell or rent personal data. The parties involved in running the App are:

• Apple — App Store distribution, In-App Purchase billing, and optional crash diagnostics you've enabled in iOS.
• Our email provider, for correspondence you choose to send us.
• Our website hosting provider, which may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and availability of this website.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

8. International transfers

Apple's App Store infrastructure operates internationally, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA in connection with your purchase, that transfer is governed by Apple's own privacy terms and the safeguards Apple applies as the payment processor and platform operator.

9. How long data is kept

• VPN sessions, browsing activity, and Security Center results. Not collected by us, so there is nothing on our side to retain.
• Purchase and subscription status. Held by Apple for as long as your Apple Account requires.
• Support email. Kept for as long as needed to resolve your request, then deleted.

10. Your rights

If the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, you have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Write to privacy@secureguardvpn.com from the address concerned, and we'll answer within one month (or tell you if we need longer, as the law allows). In practice, because we don't collect data from the App itself, a request from you will mostly concern any support correspondence we hold, since your purchase records sit with Apple.

If you believe we've handled your data improperly, you can complain to your national data protection authority — for example the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, aki.ee), since Zino Grupp OU is registered in Estonia. We'd rather you told us first, at the address above.

11. Children

SecureGuard is rated 4+ and is not directed at children in a way that involves collecting personal data — we don't collect personal data from any user. If you believe a child has used the App in a way that raises a concern, write to privacy@secureguardvpn.com.

12. Security

Any connection this website or the App makes travels over encrypted HTTPS or the VPN tunnel itself. The strongest measure here is structural rather than technical: because we don't collect your browsing activity or traffic contents, there is no database of ours holding them to be breached. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we don't claim otherwise.

13. Changes to this policy

If the App changes in a way that affects this policy, we'll update it before or alongside that release, and the date at the top will change with it. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes. The current version always lives at secureguardvpn.com/privacy.html.
